The first mentions of soft toys date back to the 19th century, when women themselves sewed them from multi-colored scraps and stuffed them with cotton wool, cotton fibers, straw, sawdust and other materials. Soft toys were small animal figures: bear cubs, kittens, puppies, bunnies and many, many other domestic and wild animals. It was only in the 20th century that mass production of soft toys was launched. During the same period, there was a boom in teddy bears not only in the West, but also here in the Soviet Union. Since then, almost every preschool child has a toy that he cannot part with - his favorite soft toy.
