Bouquet description
In other cultures, irises, as a symbol of the rainbow, also connected the earthly and divine worlds. In Judaism, these flowers symbolized the balance of spiritual and material. In Catholicism, iris was one of the flowers of the Virgin Mary, and European artists often depicted it in the gardens of Paradise on their canvases.
In Russia, this plant was known as "kasatik" and was also perceived as a symbol of spirituality. Many types of flowers were not grown in monasteries, as they reminded of worldly beauty, but this did not apply to irises.
