Radermachera chinensis is the only species of the genus Radermachera that is grown as an indoor crop. This plant was first introduced to Europe from Taiwan only at the end of the 20th century, but quickly gained popularity among flower growers due to its incredibly beautiful bright green foliage, receiving the unofficial name "emerald tree".
